Overview

Built for travelers looking for a more adventurous circuit, this 6-day package takes in some of Ladakh's high mountain passes alongside its ancient monasteries, finishing with a visit to Tso Moriri Lake — one of the region's more remote and less-visited high-altitude lakes. The itinerary suits travelers comfortable with longer drives at altitude in exchange for some of Ladakh's most dramatic, less-crowded scenery.

Tour Plan

DAY 01: ARRIVE LEH

You will be met at the airport upon your arrival in Leh. Our Representative will then escort you to your pre-booked hotel situated in the central part of the city. The day will be spent in complete rest to acclimatize you in this high altitude region. In the evening you will take a light stroll to the market.. Overnight in hotel.

DAY 2: A COMPLETE DAY OF VISIT TO THE MONASTERIES (104 KMS)

After breakfast drive to visit the Shey Palace, Thiksey, Hemis monasteries. These monasteries are built in between the period of 15th and 17th centuries, the monasteries are a living example of the Buddhist teachings .An interesting collection of murals, frescoes and statues can be seen inside the main temples. After visiting the monasteries we will drive to Stok Palace Museum. The Museum showcases the worthy royal artifacts and paraphernalia which include royal crowns, precious heirlooms, copper coins, prayer instruments and materials, precious stones and jewelers and also very old 16th century Thangkas, the Thangkas represents the life and teachings of Buddha. Later return to Leh. Overnight in hotel.

DAY 3: LEH-TSOMORIRI-LEH

Leave for TSOMORIRI lake tour via Mahe bridhe, around 245kms. from leh located at an altitude of 4500m approx. The true beauty of the region lies in its vast untamed space, wildlife & nomadic inhabitants. Over night camp.

DAY 4: TSOMIRIRI LEH VIA TANGLANG LA

Drive back to leh. Enroute visit Tanglang La on the way to Leh from Manali at over 17000 ft is the highest motorable pass on the Manali - Leh highway. Gata Loops after Moore plains and the Tanglang La are the highlights of the this highway. Overnight in hotel.

DAY 5: LEH TO KHARDONG LA TO LEH (78 KMS)

Drive for Khardongla Pass, which is the World’s highest motorable road ranging at 18380 feet. Return to Leh. Afternoon will be at leisure, free for independent activities. Overnight in hotel.
